1). Welder/Fabricator

Busy railway depot requires a highly dynamic, self motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our ever increasing workforce.

To produce and repair all aspects of our rolling stock, all work to be finished to a high standard and in line with requirements.

All applicants must be fully qualified in all welding processes.

Duties:

• Make bespoke fabrication.
• Fabricate to measurements detailed in quotes, plans and drawings.
• Marking out.
• Finish and assemble items.
• Support the Floor Manager by monitoring quality control throughout the job processes.
• Support the Floor Manager with technical knowledge on all aspects of welding and fabrications.
• Finishing jobs completed to required standard.
• Keep a note of order supplies for workshop jobs.
• Helping others when required and working as part of a team.
• Provide specific assistance to the apprentices passing on knowledge and skills and supporting any external training programmes.
• Willingness to learn new skills and keep knowledge up to date.
• Ensure all works are carried out to the relevant Health & Safety legislation Work in a safe manner using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
• Ensure the workshop is tidy at all times . Important
• Undertake any other similar duties, as required by the Floor Manager and Manager.

Hourly Rate £10.90 plus Bonus

2). Joiner

Busy railway depot requires a highly dynamic, self motivated Joiner to join our ever increasing workforce, to produce bespoke joinery, finished to a high standard and in line with requirements.

Duties:

• Make bespoke joinery.
• Action the timber and cutting lists.
• Machining of timber to measurements detailed in quotes, plans and drawings.
• Marking out.
• Finish and assemble items.
• Support the Floor Manager by monitoring quality control throughout the job processes.
• Support the Floor Manager with technical knowledge on joinery and finishing.
• Finishing jobs completed for items, such as sanding and filling using industrial joinery equipment.
• Keep a note of order supplies for workshop jobs.
• Helping others when required and working as part of a team.
• Provide specific assistance to the apprentices passing on knowledge and skills and supporting any external training programmes.
• Willingness to learn new skills and keep knowledge up to date.
• Ensure all works are carried out to the relevant Health & Safety legislation Work in a safe manner using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.

3). Fitter

West Coast Railway are currently recruiting for a full time experienced fitter to join part of a team in a busy maintenance depot you will attend to any mainline train service failures on Mk1 & Mk2 rolling stock.

Service and repair rolling stock to specifications laid down by the TOC. Adhere to local Depot protection, quality procedures and rules and regulations in force.

Duties:

• Undertake fault finding on Mk1 & Mk2 to identify faults and solutions, using drawings & diagrams.
• Carry out component changes as required.
• Using the correct equipment undertake fault finding tasks.
• Complete environmental examinations against detailed specifications, detailing any issues found.
• Carry out repairs to all forms of rolling stock.
• Undertake post repair testing.
• Attend track calls outside the depot confines, as directed by Fleet Control.
• Using appropriate paperwork record all work carried out and sign off for all work completed.
• Compile formal reports detailing post incident / failure.
• Obtain, use, care for and return all tools and equipment used.
• Advise Fleet Control / Supervisor of any problems or defects identified and any work arising from the issues.
• Work effectively as part of a team, taking the lead when required.
• Undertake minor modifications and / or fleet improvement schemes as required.

Hourly Rate £10.90 plus Bonus
