Enjoy a very special day out aboard our heritage train with the thrill of steam haulage over the Settle Carlisle.
Departing around 0630 from St Neots (0700 Peterborough and 0830 Doncaster) we travel behind diesel traction through Leeds into the Dales and Hellifield Junction where our steam engine takes over for the nostalgic ride over the famous Settle Carlisle.
The steam engine will have to work hard over the steep gradients on the route providing a thrilling spectacle and, of course, the scenery to be viewed from the train is second to none.
We have requested a photo stop en route and there will be free time in Carlisle (two to three hours) to enjoy this attractive city and maybe take a quick photo or two of our engine.
Returning behind diesel along the scenic Tyne Valle Line completes a superb circular tour with varied scenery and, of course, the joy of steam travel.
Book dining and enjoy a full English breakfast and elevenses on the outward journey plus a four course dinner on the return. A great trip at any time but even better behind steam traction.
