Snow on the Settle Carlisle

Dates to be confirmed

The Settle Carlisle is famous for its scenery and rightly so. The line which runs through the Yorkshire Dales and the Eden Valley offers mile after mile of stunning views including 'The Three Peaks', open moorland, tumbling streams and the Cumbrian Mountains. Superb at any time of the year but even more dramatic in winter with rivers in full flow and, with luck, mountains topped with snow.

Departing Milton Keynes early morning we travel outwards over the West Coast Main Line, which also presents some spectacular scenery as we pass Morcambe Bay and and head over to Carlisle, our destination, where we will break for around three hours. During our break you will find that Carlisle Station is close to the bustling city centre with its range of shops, attractive Catherdral, museums and imposing castle. Departing Carlise early afternoon we return over the Settle Carlisle arriving into Milton Keynes around 2230.

Our train will convey standard, first class and dining coaches, with all seats at tables. First and standard class passengers will be able to purchase teas, coffee and light refreshments from the buffet whilst those passengers travelling dining will be served breakfast and elevenses on the outward journey with a four course dinner being served on the return.
