Arundel Castle

Chichester or Arundel – Channel Coast Express

Departs Saturday 5th April 2014 from Doncaster, Retford, Newark, Grantham, Peterborough, Huntingdon and St Neots.

Join our special train to the south coast for a great day out with some lovely scenery and a choice of destinations.

Departing Doncaster around 0600 – 0630 we pick up as detailed to St Neots from where we head south down the main line to London. After passing through Finsbury Park we take the North London Line for an interesting trip around the capital. After crossing the Thames our train continues south through the rolling scenery of the South Downs towards Arundel our first option for a break of journey. Leave the train here and you have a choice of visiting the stunning castle (admission charge), one of the oldest and most complete in the country. Alternatively spend your time wandering around the very attractive centre of Arundel which stands on a hill overlooking the river and boasts a selection of curio and antique shops, bars and restaurants which line its pretty streets. (Arundel is a flat 10 minute stroll from the station). Stay aboard the train and continue to Chichester, an attractive market town with a magnificent cathedral, art galleries, plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants for a pleasant break.

We expect around three hours in Chichester and a little longer at Arundel.
