Kidderminster to York or Scarborough
Departs – Wednesday 13 September 2017
From Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Rowley Regis, Birmingham New Street, Walsall, Cannock, Rugely, Stafford & Crewe.
Join us for a scenic tour around the Yorkshire Wolds with free time in the north of England´s premier seaside resort of Scarborough.
After picking up at stations listed we depart Crewe and make our way through York and continue across North Yorkshire, passing by the historic market town of Malton en route to the coast and the resort of Scarborough. We expect to break for around three hours or so, plenty of time to wander through the bustling town centre and explore this famous seaside destination.
A range of attractions you may wish to visit include the Castle, which dominates the town, or you may wish to take the narrow gauge railway through the park to Scalby Mills. The seafront offers two sweeping bays with lovely views and, between these bays, lies the busy working harbour, the focal point of the resort.
YORK: A city which needs no introduction, York is a city which caters for all. The city is a hive of culture and history complete with cobbled lanes, ancient buildings, stunning architecture and a choice of world class museums to visit. Its bars, cuisine and pubs also don´t disappoint, that along with its beer. Yorkshire Folk are rightly proud of the Ale they brew!
SCARBOROUGH: Alternatively, travel to Scarborough and enjoy roughly 3 hours break. With over 2,500 years of turbulent history it has been catering for family visitors to the Yorkshire Coast since the 17th century. There are plenty of places to eat and drink too, whether you want the traditional English fish 'n' chips widely associated with such resorts, or would prefer other cuisine!
Premier Dining Class includes an at seat silver service of full English Breakfast in the morning, a selection of pastries with coffee mid journey and a four course meal on the return journey all freshly prepared by our skilled chefs on board the train.
First Class includes complimentary teas and coffees along with a breakfast bap and pastries on the outward leg and a savoury of the day followed by cake will be served on the return journey.
CHILDREN UNDER 5 can be brought on the train free of charge only if not taking up a seat and sharing seats with accompanying adults.
REFRESHMENTS: A buffet counter service of snacks, hot and cold drinks, and alcoholic beverages is available to all our Standard and First class passengers throughout the day. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or indeed a tasty picnic to enjoy as the countryside passes by!
