Settle Carlisle - The Tyne Valley
A lovely relaxing and scenic circular tour which includes travel on the famous Settle Carlisle line. Departing Whitby around 0730 we make our way along the Esk Valley, a delightful line in its own right. After picking up at stations detailed above we head through York towards Leeds and Skipton, from there we make for Settle Junction and the stunning scenery along the Settle-Carlisle. Passing by the Three Peaks, through the market town of Appleby and along the Eden Valley it's spectacular scenery all the way to Carlisle where we break for around three hours. After enjoying the sights of this attractive City with its fine Cathedral castle, museums and pedestrianised centre, we return along the Tyne Valley route with its rolling countryside and river views bound for Darlington and advertised stations to Whitby where we expect to arrive around 2200.
Once again our train will convey standard, first class and dining coaches, with all seats at tables. First and standard class passengers will be able to purchase teas, coffee and light refreshments from the buffet whilst those passengers traveling dining will be served breakfast and elevenses on the outward journey with a four course dinner being served on the return.
